Onion Juice for Hair Growth

Hair issues are general and we are constantly on the lookout for ways to maintain the hair. You must have gone across many natural remedies for your hair, but did you ever thought of using onions for your hair? If not, then you must give it a try. You may use onion juice for hair regrowth, male pattern baldness and make hair become thick.


Onion is useful for treating hair break because of its higher sulfur content. Sulfur is also called the 'healing material' since it has the power to induce blood circulation and decrease skin arousal. It is also named as this 'beauty mineral' because it is essential at the process of collagen, which is the great protein in our surface that makes it strength and smoothness. It maintains our hair and nails good condition.

(1) Onion Juice and Olive oil / Castor Oil

Ingredients :

2 Onion
3-4 tablespoon of Olive/ Castor Oil

How to Use :

Peel the onion and cut it into pieces, then place them into the blender and blend until smooth paste. Next, strain the blend and squeeze out as much juice as possible. You can also use a grater, peel the onion and grate it, and then strain the mixture to get the juice.


This hair mask fight against hair loss, dandruff and itchy scalp. Mix the Onion Juice with equal amounts of Olive Oil or Castor Oil and apply it on the scalp and hair. Cover your hair with a shower cap, and leave it on for about an hours. Rinse your hair with a shampoo. It will boost hair growth and will also give a shiny, glossy look to your hair. Do this twice or thrice a month for the best result.

(2) Onion Juice, Ginger, Garlic and Coconut Oil 

Ingredients :

2 Onion 
A small Ginger
2-3 Garlic 
3-4 tablespoon of Coconut Oil

How to Use :


Peel the onion, ginger and garlic and cut them into pieces, then place them into the blender and blend until smooth paste. Next, strain the blend and squeeze out as much juice as possible. Then in this juice add 3-4 tablespoon of Coconut Oil. Apply it on the scalp and hair. Cover your hair with a shower cap, and leave it on for about an hours. Rinse your hair with a shampoo. 

Garlic and onions include heaps of sulfur, selenium, minerals, B Vitamins and C Vitamins which are important for fabric growth. Sulfur assists at the existence of collagen paper, which reinforces hair follicles. You can apply this mixture on your scalp or in the hair. It is a natural hair conditioner that has been used for centuries.

(3) Onion Juice, Coconut Oil and Rosemary Essential Oil

Ingredients :

2 Onion
3-4 tablespoon of Coconut Oil
5-6 drops of Rosemary Essential Oil

How to make :


Peel the onion and cut it into pieces, then place them into the blender and blend until smooth paste. Next, strain the blend and squeeze out as much juice as possible. You can also use a grater, peel the onion and grate it, and then strain the mixture to get the juice.


In a bowl, put 3-4 tablespoon of Coconut Oil. If your coconut oil is in a solid form, use the double boiler method means place the bowl in hot water until it turns to a liquid. Then add Onion Juice and Rosemary Essential Oil in it. Mix it well and apply it on the scalp and hair. Leave it on for about an hours. Rinse your hair with a shampoo. 


(4) Onion Juice, Amla and Coconut Oil



Ingredients :

2 Onion
2 Amla
3-4 tablespoon of Coconut Oil


How to Make :

Take 2 Onions and Amla(remove the seeds), cut it into small pieces, then place them into the blender and blend until smooth paste. Strain the blend and squeeze out as much as possible.  You can also use a grater, peel the Onion and Amla and grate it, and then strain the mixture to get the juice.
Mix the juice with Coconut Oil, then massage the juice into your scalp and leave it on 30 minutes or an hour, then rinse it off and wash your hair using a natural cleanser.



(5) Onion Juice and Lemon




Ingredients :


2 Onion 
Half a lemon
3-4 tablespoon of Coconut Oil
5-6 drops of Lavender Essential Oil (optional)

How to Make :


This combination of onion juice with one 1/2 teaspoon of Lemon juice is very good for dandruff. 
Peel the onion and cut it into pieces, then place them into the blender and blend until smooth paste. Next, strain the blend and squeeze out as much juice as possible. You can also use a grater, peel the onion and grate it, and then strain the mixture to get the juice.

Mix Onion Juice, Lemon Juice with some Coconut Oil, you can add a few drops of essential oil to give it a good smell. Lavender Essential Oil is also good for dandruff. 
Apply it on your scalp and hair, leave it for an hour and then rinse your hair with a shampoo.

(6) Onion Juice and Aloe Vera Gel

Ingredients :

2 Onion
3-4 tablespoon of Aloe Vera Gel

How to Make :

Peel the onion and cut it into pieces, then place them into the blender and blend until smooth paste. Next, strain the blend and squeeze out as much juice as possible. You can also use a grater, peel the onion and grate it, and then strain the mixture to get the juice.

Mix Onion Juice with Aloe Vera Gel and apply it on your scalp. Leave it for 30 minutes, then rinse off with a shampoo.
Aloe vera contains proteolytic enzymes which repairs dead skin cells on the scalp. It also acts as a great conditioner and leaves your hair smooth and shiny. It promotes hair growth, prevents itching on the scalp, reduces dandruff and conditions your hair.

(7) Onion Juice and Honey


Ingredients :

2 Onion
2 tablespoon of Honey

How to Make :

Peel the onion and cut it into pieces, then place them into the blender and blend until smooth paste. Next, strain the blend and squeeze out as much juice as possible. You can also use a grater, peel the onion and grate it, and then strain the mixture to get the juice.


Mix Onion Juice with Honey and apply it on your scalp. Leave it for 30 minutes, then rinse off with a shampoo.
This reduces breakage, which is often a cause for slower hair growth. It has rich antioxidant properties which prevent damage, keeping your scalp and hair healthy. Honey strengthens the hair follicles. Honey is also comprises antibacterial and antiseptic qualities.


*Do this at least 3-4 times in a month for a great result.

NOTE :
If you are using onion juice for the first time do a patch test on a small area in case you may be allergic to it.

After using onion juice, you can wash the hair with Apple Cider Vinegar. Just take two tablespoons of Apple Cider Vinegar with a cup of water and wash the hair. You can also use the citrus fruit-based shampoo or add a bit flavor to the shampoo while washing your hair. Onion is widely understood to be the part of the staple diet in every family. Amazingly, it is also a wonderful home cure for hair loss. As the consequence of its antibacterial and antioxidant properties, it proves to be highly good for the hair. Furthermore, it also makes your hair shinier and healthy.


Onions are higher in sulfur and help in enhancing blood circulation to those hair follicles. Its anti-bacterial attributes assist in addressing any sort of inflammation of the skin, while simultaneously defeating parasites, germs and treating infections to the skin.
